WIN TICKETS TO STAR COUPLE'S BIG SMOKE COMEDY - PRISONER OF SECOND AVENUE

Don’t miss real life husband and wife duo, Jacki Weaver and Sean Taylor, as they sweat it out in a stifling New York summer for a limited Queensland Theatre Company (QTC) season at QPAC’s Playhouse 'til 19 April.

One of America’s most prolific living writers, Neil Simon, wrote The Prisoner of Second Avenue in the 70s, peppering it with fantastic one liners and snappy text. Time Magazine said “If Broadway ever erects a monument to the patron saint of laughter, Neil Simon would have to be it.”

The city is as hot as hell and for Mel Edison the similarities don’t end there. The city swarms with criminals, his neighbours are insufferable, his shrink has died, his Valium has stopped working and to top it off, at the age of 47, Mel has been fired.

What’s more, while he sits there, confined to his 14th floor apartment, his ego takes a bruising as his devoted and adoring wife Edna returns to work.

For your chance to experience the riotous comedy of desperation that ensues, send us an email to
mail@qldtheatreco.com.au titled "New York".
