To celebrate Dame Edna’s fifty years on the stage, and, coincidentally, his own theatrical jubilee, Barry Humphries will present a new show at the Lyric Theatre for a limited season.

Back with a Vengeance will feature some of Barry’s favourite creations including Dame Edna Everage, Sandy Stone and Les Patterson, in a show specially written and performed for Australian audiences.

In the last seven years Barry Humphries has been presenting shows in the United States of America, where he has won a Tony Award as well as many other theatrical honours. None of this could have been anticipated when he began his career as an actor on the campus of Melbourne University in 1955. His work has broadened, but also deepened, and it is with great pride he returns to Australia to celebrate the climax of a long career with what critics are calling his best show ever!
